NFL

  • Cowboys 23 Giants 16
    • Cooper Rush has done a nice job filling in for Dak Prescott, which is huge since the Eagles continue to roll. Dallas needs to keep pace, even in a somewhat weak NFC. Dallas also got 12 QB hits yesterday, any astonishing figure that gave Daniel Jones no chance in most moments. Trevon Diggs, while susceptible to being burnt at times, is still the same guy he was in 2021, as he recorded an interception in this contest. The Commanders have been struggling, so I like the Cowboys to beat them at home next week.
    • The Giants aren’t terrible, but their 2-0 start was a bit fluky. The team runs the ball well, but the passing game is pretty rough. Combine that with poor protection, and what you get is a bad product. New York’s schedule is laughably easy, so the Giants should be able to remain in the playoff mix for at least awhile.
  • Chargers OT Rashawn Slater out for season with torn biceps
    • Slater is a good starter on the offensive line, so this will be a huge setback for Los Angeles, especially considering that Justin Herbert and Joey Bosa are also banged up. We’ll see what Storm Norton can do in Slater’s place, but things aren’t looking great for the Chargers at the moment.

NCAAF

  • Texas A&M WR Ainias Smith out for season with leg injury
    • The Aggies’ offense was already struggling in the passing game, so this will make matters worse. Freshman Evan Stewart is talented and can certainly fill in, but the 3-1 Aggies can probably kiss any playoff hopes they had goodbye.

MLB

  • Braves 8 Nationals 0
    • I had Braves starter Bryce Elder in DFS yesterday, a good move since he pitched a shutout in this contest. I have no idea how Elder’s performance didn’t put me in the green, but that’s for me to figure out.
