  • Five-star EDGE Damon Wilson commits to Georgia
    • The Bulldogs are absolutely rolling, both on and off the field. Wilson, the No. 13 prospect in 2023, should help the Georgia defense remain beyond elite.
  • Five-star DL James Smith commits to Alabama
    • Alabama didn’t have as good of a season as Georgia, but the Tide, like the Bulldogs, is absolutely on fire on the recruiting trail. In pulling in 2023’s No. 1 class, Nick Saban was able to convince Smith, the No. 18 player, to come aboard.
  • Five-star EDGE Qua Russaw commits to Alabama
    • Russaw, a high school teammate of James Smith, was a package deal with the defensive lineman all along. In joining Smith in Tuscaloosa, the No. 22 prospect should help continue Alabama’s defensive dominance.
  • Five-star EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei commits to Oregon
    • Uiagalelei is a tough miss for USC and Ohio State, two programs in need of help on the defensive side of the ball. For Oregon, though, this is a massive victory, as Uiagalelei, the No. 31 player for 2023, has the potential to be the next Kayvon Thibodeaux in Eugene.
  • Five-star S Peyton Bowen commits to Oregon
    • Bowen, 2023’s No. 14 prospect, had a fairly blurry recruitment, but Oregon has to be thrilled to be the chosen program. On the other side, this is a crushing defeat for Notre Dame, who appeared to lead for the safety for at least most of the way.
  • Former Jackson State CB Travis Hunter transfers to Colorado
    • Shocker. Hunter leaked a few other schools as potential options, but Colorado seemed to be the obvious fit all along. In joining Deion Sanders, Hunter’s former coach, the cornerback may be able to help the Buffaloes reach .500 in 2023, but that still feels like a bit of a longshot, unless Colorado adds even more help via the transfer portal.
