NBA
- Wizards 116, Knicks 105
- The Wizards have a bit of a logjam on the perimeter, which makes reports of them shopping Rui Hachimura sensible. The 24-year-old forward played just 20 minutes last night, while Corey Kispert clocked in at just 15. At 19-26, all options should be on the table for Washington.
- Obi Toppin’s place in New York’s rotation is mystifying at the moment. The big man is averaging just 10.7 minutes per game in January, and has arguably been passed by both Isaiah Hartenstein and Jericho Sims in the rotation.
- Grizzlies 115, Cavaliers 114
- Memphis is a pretty young team, so it’s impressive how much it already jells together. The pieces fit so well, so every boost the team gets, including Santi Aldama’s 16 points in this game, is usually enough to put the Grizzlies over the top.
- Hornets 122, Rockets 117
- It’s hard to take the Rockets seriously as an NBA team at this point. Houston should be past the point of getting embarrassed off the court over and over again, but apparently it isn’t, as the Rockets have dropped 12 straight. On a positive note, Jalen Green had a great night, scoring 41 points on 16-24 shooting.
