- Hawks fire head coach Nate McMillan
- The Hawks (29-30) clearly haven’t lived up to internal expectations thus far, so this move isn’t a shocker. McMillan, after all, is a much better coach than his predecessor, Lloyd Pierce, but Atlanta must feel it can do better. McMillan probably won’t find another NBA head coaching job after this stint, and it’ll be interesting to see who the Hawks turn to as his full-time replacement. That hire will determine whether or not this termination was a good decision.
