• Cubs sign LF Ian Happ to three-year, $61 million contract extension
  • This amount feels about right, although I’m a little surprised this deal is for just three years. Happ, 28, probably had something to say about that, though, as this pact will allow the outfielder to enter free agency as a 31-year-old. Happ’s play has really picked up since the start of last season, when the Cub made the All-Star game and won a Gold Glove.
