- Pirates sign CF Bryan Reynolds to eight-year, $106.75 million contract extension
- The Pirates and Reynolds had various conversations in the spring regarding this deal, and Reynolds clearly caved in and acquiesced to Pittsburgh’s offer. Good for Reynolds, 28, for locking in significant money, but the outfielder could have done better, and the Pirates are lucky that he opted to accept. Pittsburgh is off to a roaring, albeit lucky, 16-7 start, and this Reynolds extension should only bolster the momentum in the Steel City.
