Jazz sign SG Jordan Clarkson to three-year, $55 million contract extension

This extension includes a raise in 2024 for Clarkson, one of the league’s best scorers off the bench. There’s almost no reason to dislike this deal for the Jazz. If the team fails to become a winner over the next few seasons, the average annual value of this contract makes Clarkson pretty tradeable, and if Utah is competitive, then the club has a talented player rostered at a manageable figure. The most likely scenario, though, is that the 31-year-old guard gets moved at some point over the next couple of seasons, but the Jazz shouldn’t have to attach any assets to get that deal done. This was a wise move, but it’s not necessarily a bargain for Utah.
