Mariners 7, Astros 6

Seattle had a bit of a storybook regular season in 2022 followed by an alarming 11-16 start to this season. Based on that start, there was certainly reason to worry, but that’s deep in the past now. The Mariners have now won six straight, including this sweep against the Astros, and are just a half game back of Houston. I like Seattle’s chances to return to the postseason, even in a competitive AL wild card race.

The Astros need to get Hunter Brown right. The 24 year old has plenty of talent, but his last three starts haven’t gone well. Brown lasted just 2 2/3 innings yesterday and allowed six earned runs.
