Dolphins sign DL Zach Sieler to three-year, $30.8 million contract extension
Sieler is a solid defensive lineman that any franchise would be happy to have as a part of its rotation. The 27 year old thrives at stopping the run, and even generated some pressure on the quarterback in 2022, recording 3.5 sacks. While Sieler is useful, this is probably a hit too much money for a player of his caliber, as the funds could’ve been better allocated elsewhere.

Cubs 10, Pirates 1
Cody Bellinger has been a godsend for the Cubs this season. If it weren’t for the talented outfielder missing around a month earlier in the year, Bellinger would be an MVP candidate in a hotly contested National League race with a .321 average, 20 home runs and 75 RBI.
It didn’t make a ton of sense that the Cubs were just -130 on the moneyline for this game. The Pirates went with Bailey Falter as their starter, and the Cubs took advantage, scoring six runs off the lefty.
Rockies 4, Orioles 3
The Orioles acquiring Jack Flaherty from the Cardinals a few weeks ago seemed smart, but Flaherty isn’t the pitcher he used to be, and it may end up costing Baltimore. The 27-year-old was a disaster in his last start versus the Padres, and wasn’t great yesterday, either, allowing three earned runs with seven hits. Flaherty has a 6.41 ERA as an Oriole through four starts.
Dodgers 7, Red Sox 4
Red Sox fans didn’t need a reminder that the Mookie Betts trade was a bad one, but Betts provided them with one yesterday, going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI. If you look deep enough into advanced stats, a sound case can be made that Betts should be the leader for NL MVP. After all, the 2018 AL MVP is slashing .315/.407/.611. Betts is just 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, so I’ve always been impressed with how much power his swing generates.
