Dodgers sign 3B Max Muncy to a two-year, $24 million contract

This is a bargain. Muncy will never set the world on fire with his batting average — he hit just .212 in 2023 — but he’s a good overall hitter that tied a career high with 36 home runs last season. Additionally, in his past five full seasons, Muncy has never recorded a WAR below 2.6, so just $12 million per year for the infielder is a steal. The Dodgers have a big offseason ahead — I think they’ll end up with Shohei Ohtani –and this is a good start.
