Giants sign RF Jorge Soler to three-year, $42 million contract

This is a pretty decent match between team and player. Last season, Soler slugged 36 longballs, and would certainly boost San Francisco’s lineup, which finished No. 19 across MLB in home runs in 2023. Lifted by his power, Soler had one of his better overall years at the plate last year as well, slashing .250/.341/.512, and while the amount per year of this contract is fair, the deal would’ve been better for the Giants if it were for just two years, instead of three.
