Eagles receive: 2026 conditional third-round pick
Jets receive: Haason Reddick

The situation with Riddick in Philadelphia fizzled out, and this isn’t a bad return for the Eagles, given the draft pick acquired can become a second-round selection if Riddick meets certain benchmarks. 27 sacks across two seasons won’t be easy to replace, but the Eagles are revamping their defense, and this is yet another step of that process.

The Jets are now fairly deep at edge rusher, and this trade probably takes New York out of the running to draft Dallas Turner or Laiatu Latu in round one. Reddick has a nearly $22 million cap hit for 2024, but the Jets are in win-now mode with an aging Aaron Rodgers, so this move makes sense.

Jaguars sign LB Foyesade Oluokun to three-year, $45 million contract extension

In a way, tackles can be a misleading stat, but nobody in the NFL racks up more of them than Oluokun. Over the past three seasons, one with Atlanta and two with Jacksonville, Oluokun has tallied 549 tackles. Clearly, the Jaguars trust him anchoring the middle of their defense, and he may now be doing so through 2027.

Siena hires Gerry McNamara as head coach

Last year following Jim Boeheim’s retirement, the Syracuse job went to Adrian Autry, but one could argue McNamara would’ve been a better choice. Now, Siena has lucked into hiring McNamara, who had been on the Orange staff since 2009, and should bring valuable experience and energy to a Saints program that was a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament as recently as 2009. The MAAC is there for the taking moving forward, and Siena should be in the mix as soon as a year from now.
