BYU hires Kevin Young as head coach

When college programs hire a coach that has spent the majority of his time at the professional level, the end result typically isn’t good. With Young, there’s a chance it could be different. The 42-year-old is not only a respected NBA assistant, but he also has ties to BYU’s region, making him a sound fit for the position. Young is the right person to lead the Cougars following Mark Pope’s departure for Kentucky.

Arizona transfer C Oumar Ballo transfers to Indiana

Ballo leaving Arizona was surprising given his ties to Tommy Lloyd, dating back to their time together at Gonzaga, but this is a big get for the Hoosiers. Indiana had already done good work in building its roster for 2025, and Ballo only fortifies it further. The center averaged 12.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in 2024, while also playing strong defense.
