Wisconsin transfer SF AJ Storr commits to Kansas
The offseason is only a week and half old, but Bill Self has already completely remade Kansas’ wing rotation. The Jayhawks have now added Storr, Zeke Mayo, and Riley Kugel to a team that underachieved last season, but should have big plans for 2025. Last season for Wisconsin, Storr posted averages of 16.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
MLB
Rays 2, Angels 1
It’s not fair to say everything the Rays touch turns to gold, but Tampa Bay has a solid evaluation track record, and Amed Rosario might be another hit for Erik Neander and company. Tampa Bay signed Rosario to a cheap one-year deal this winter, and the early results have been promising. Yesterday, the 28-year-old went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple.
Rangers 9, Tigers 7
Jack Leiter’s MLB debut (3 2/3 innings, seven earned runs) wasn’t anything close to a success, but Texas will be better in the long run for having the 23-year-old top prospect up with the big club. Leiter threw the ball well in this game, but too many of his pitches sat right over the plate.
Guardians 5, Red Sox 4
These 13-6 Guardians just know how to win. It’s certainly easier to win close games when you have arguably the best closer in the game on your side, as well. That closer, Emmanuel Clase, nabbed his fifth save of the season in this tilt.
Giants 5, Diamondbacks 0
Logan Webb is one of the game’s most underrated starters, and this game was yet another bit of evidence supporting that claim. Webb lasted seven dominant innings, allowing just two hits and retired 19 Diamondbacks in a row at one point.
