Arkansas transfer OT Andrew Chamblee commits to SMU

Chamblee should step in for the Mustangs and replace Marcus Bryant, a First Team All-AAC performer last season. SMU will face stiffer competition in its inaugural season in the ACC in 2024, but led by Preston Stone, the Mustangs should push for a bowl berth this year.

Utah transfer PG Deivon Smith commits to St. John’s

St. John’s needed some backcourt help, so Smith helps fill that need and then some. The do-it-all point guard stuffed the stat sheet for the Utes in 2024, posting 13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game. Rick Pitino desperately wants to get to the NCAA Tournament in year two with the Red Storm and Smith should boost St. John’s’ odds at accomplishing that goal.

Kentucky transfer SF Adou Thiero commits to Arkansas

No surprise here. John Calipari coached Thiero at Kentucky, so the swingman following his former head coach to Fayetteville makes sense. Thiero likely won’t start over incoming freshman Karter Knox, but he’ll bring defense, tenacity, and an improved offensive acumen off the bench for the Razorbacks. Arkansas’ roster isn’t full yet, but Calipari’s first year with the program should have fairly lofty goals.
