49ers sign WR Jauan Jennings to two-year, $15.4 million contract
Jennings was initially tendered as a restricted free agent, so this contract serves as a replacement for that. Both Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel are up for contract extensions, so it’s interesting that San Francisco opted to address Jennings’ situation first. The 26-year-old recorded just 265 receiving yards in 2023, but he made several key plays in the Super Bowl and could, at least for now, compete for the team’s No. 3 wide receiver job with Ricky Pearsall.

Vikings sign G Dalton Risner to one-year contract
Monetary terms for this deal weren’t released, but it includes protections for Minnesota if Risner doesn’t start the majority of games for the Vikings. In 2023, the guard had to also wait before signing a contract with Minnesota, and he ended up starting 11 games, so it’s fair to assume that could be the case again this year. The Vikings currently have Blake Brandel and Ed Ingram at guard.

Jets sign RB Tarik Cohen to one-year contract
Monetary terms for this deal weren’t released. Cohen hasn’t played an NFL snap since 2020, but he’s mostly a gadget player, so the missed time might not hurt him as much. Breece Hall is the face of New York’s backfield, but Israel Abanikanda, Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis will also probably make the team, so Cohen may face an up-hill battle just to be on the club’s initial 53-man roster.
