Mets 11, Cubs 1

Shota Imanaga, a fly ball pitcher, has mostly limited the power of opposing lineups this season, but all trends sort themselves out over time. The Mets made sure of that in this contest, tagging Chicago’s lauded rookie for three homers and 10 runs. Imanaga entered the day with a 1.89 ERA; it’s now 2.96.

Tigers 2, White Sox 1

Prior to this year, Jack Flaherty probably wanted to forget 2020-2023 — the right-hander struggled outside of a half season in 2021. Now, those seasons truly are remnants of the past. The 28-year-old has rediscovered his 2019 form, a campaign in which he finished 11-8 with a 2.75 ERA. After tossing 5 2/3 frames of one-run ball, Flaherty’s 2.92 ERA is right in line with his figure from five years ago.
