Hawks sign SG Vit Krejci to four-year, $10 million contract
Atlanta might (probably not, but still) have something in Krejci, so securing him for four seasons at a price near the league minimum is a fun and inexpensive gamble. The swingman’s long-range shooting improved a good bit in 2024, up to 41.2 percent.

Royals 6, Cardinals 4
Salvador Perez may be 34 — seriously, it feels like the Royal lifer is actually older than that — but he’s still raking. The 14-year pro finished this game, the first of a doubleheader, 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Perez has had a phenomenal career — 1,501 hits, 260 home runs and a World Series title — but he has some more compiling to do to receive a call to Cooperstown.
White Sox 3, Twins 1
Wins aren’t the most important thing to the 27-67 White Sox right now. That tends to be the case when a club is 32 games back of first place in July. Instead, vice president Chris Getz is likely most concerned with player development and the asking prices of Chicago’s trade targets. On that front, yesterday was a good day for Getz and the White Sox, as Luis Robert and Erick Fedde each put together strong performances. Robert, in particular, would fetch a fortune for the last-place Sox.
