Texans G Kenyon Green out for season with shoulder injury
This is unfortunate circumstance for Green, but it may be a blessing in disguise for the Texans. The 2022 first-round pick has been dreadful — there’s no other way around it — this season, and Houston’s attack will probably benefit with a new left guard in Green’s place. C.J. Stroud certainly could use some help, as last season’s Offensive Rookie of the Year has taken a step back as a sophomore, partly because of injuries around him.

Grand Canyon to join the Mountain West in 2026
So much for Grand Canyon joining the WCC. The Lopes reversing course is wise, especially in wake of Gonzaga departing the WCC to join the Pac-12. Once Grand Canyon’s membership is official, the Lopes, Nevada, New Mexico and UNLV should dominate the Mountain West. Conference realignment, though, is very fluid, so the league could look different by 2026.
