Chiefs sign OT D.J. Humphries to one-year, $4.5 million contract

I’m surprised it took Humphries this long to sign. Perhaps he was waiting for the perfect landing spot. If so, the former Pro Bowler found it, as the Chiefs are a contender in need of an upgrade at left tackle.

It’s somewhat of a mystery as to how much the 30-year-old has left in the tank, especially returning from a major injury. Regardless, he should provide better blindside protection for Patrick Mahomes than Wanya Morris has.
