Patriots hire Terrell Williams as defensive coordinator

This is a solid move. Williams and Mike Vrabel have a prior working relationship with the Titans, so that familiarity should help the first-time defensive coordinator. Williams also comes from a recently successful Lions organization, where he coached a strong defensive front. This is an upgrade over DeMarcus Covington.

Mavericks C Dereck Lively out for two-to-three months with foot fracture

The Mavericks were already reeling, and this injury will only dampen the situation. Now, without Lively, it’s simply a waiting game for Luka Doncic to return. Fortunately for 23-20 Dallas, both starters figure to return in time for the playoffs. Look for Daniel Gafford to assume a starting role in Lively’s absence.
