Jets hire Tanner Engstrand as offensive coordinator

Can Engstrand finally be the offensive mind to jumpstart the Jets’ offense? That’s a big ask, but the 42-year-old surely has the requisite background. Serving as the Lions’ passing game coordinator the past two seasons, Engstrand helped guide a strong Detroit attack. It’ll be a tougher assignment in New York, but Engstrand should have head coach Aaron Glenn’s trust, as the two coaches worked together with the Lions.

Buccaneers promote Josh Grizzard to offensive coordinator

Promoting from within is a sound philosophy to follow, and Tampa Bay is doing so here. Grizzard hasn’t been with the organization long — he joined last year as the passing game coordinator — but the offense thrived so much that it’s hard to disapprove of this decision. Replacing Liam Cohen, however, is a tall task. It remains to be seen if the 34-year-old Grizzard is up for it.
