Falcons sign OT Kaleb McGary to two-year, $30 million contract extension

It’s that time of year for contract extensions, and McGary is the latest.

For the Falcons, it’s a great one. McGary is one of the better right tackles in the league, so securing him at $15 million per season is a bargain. He’s on the wrong side of 30, but McGary’s run blocking gives him a high floor. He’s a solid pass blocker, too, which will serve Atlanta’s offense well as it continues to break in Michael Penix as its starting quarterback.

McGary, along with Chris Lindstrom, helps make up an awesome right side of the Falcons’ offensive line. There’ll be open running lanes aplenty for Bijan Robinson this year as he chases a potential rushing title.

I’m not bullish on the Falcons as a whole, but signing McGary to this deal is tremendous work.
