Dolphins sign CB Rasul Douglas to one-year, $3 million contract
The Dolphins keep applying Band-Aids to their cornerback room, and Douglas is the latest adhesive patched on.
A 29-year-old journeyman, Douglas will be playing for his fifth team. His play dipped significantly last season, but he still made 58 tackles. In Miami, he’ll be expected to start for a very weak position group.
It’s not a sustainable roster-building tactic to rely on veteran free-agent signings in August, but it’s approvable when necessary. For the Dolphins, this signing was needed, especially in wake of releasing Mike Hilton.

Browns receive:
OT KT Leveston
Rams receive:
2028 seventh-round pick
This is a somewhat interesting move. Los Angeles selected Leveston in the seventh round in 2024, but he didn’t play a down for the team as a rookie. Thus, receiving a pick — even a late-round one — is nice work by Les Snead.
I don’t mind the Browns agreeing to this deal, though. Cleveland’s top-to-bottom roster is weaker than Los Angeles’, so adding a young former draft pick isn’t a bad idea, especially for a late 2028 selection. With the health of Dawand Jones and Cornelius Lucas uncertain, the Browns almost had to add a tackle.
