Browns receive:
OT Cam Robinson
2027 seventh-round pick
Texans receive:
2026 sixth-round pick
Back in March, Robinson inked a one-year, $12 million contract with Houston. After just four games — the last of which Robinson was inactive — the Texans were ready to pull the plug.
That’s an obvious indictment on Houston’s front office, but also on Robinson. The Texans have one of the worst protection units in the NFL, yet the 29-year-old was unable to secure a spot on it. I would say that a change of scenery could help, but the Browns will be Robinson’s fourth team in less than a year.
Cleveland, however, has an even more dire offensive tackle situation than Houston. It shouldn’t be hard for Robinson to overtake Cornelius Lucas or KT Leveston. For the inconsequential price of a 2027 late-round pick swap, this is a decent move for the Browns.

Giants fire manager Bob Melvin
Patience is running thin in San Francisco, apparently. Melvin is one of the more respected — and accomplished — skippers in MLB, but that wasn’t enough for the Giants’ new regime. Finding a new manager will be easy. Replacing Melvin, however, will not.
The Giants, flush with resources and a competitive roster, will offer an attractive opening. More importantly, though, San Francisco needs to turn money and talent into victories. Since finishing 107-55 in 2021, the Giants haven’t ended a year above .500. Ideally, with a new leader, that’ll change.

Twins fire manager Rocco Baldelli
In late July, the Twins initiated a fire sale at the trade deadline, offloading numerous veterans. Thus, a rebuild commenced.
It would’ve made sense to retain Baldelli, though. The skipper compiled a 524-502 mark with the Twins, making the postseason three times across seven seasons. Over that span, Minnesota was one of the more stable franchises in the AL. Baldelli surely had something to do with that.
However, the Twins are moving in a different direction, and like the Giants, they’ll struggle to find a better replacement.
