NFL
- Bills 31 Rams 10
- This goes without saying, but the Bills are going to be a problem this year. I had Josh Allen as my pick to win MVP this season, and feel even better about that selection following this game. Buffalo rosters an good group of pass catchers, and an even better front seven on defense. Sacking a veteran quarterback seven times in a game is an incredible feat. The Titans won’t be able to keep up with the Bills next Monday night.
- I’m worried about Matthew Stafford’s elbow. The signal-caller had offseason surgery on the body part, and seems primed for regression in 2022. Cooper Kupp, who had 13 grabs for 128 yards and a score in this contest, may end up being Los Angeles’ saving grace on offense. The Rams, in terms of their division, should still be fine, though. After all, Aaron Donald is still on the team. The Rams have a get-right game next week versus the Falcons.

- Clemson signs head coach Dabo Swinney to 10-year, $115M contract
- The top college football head coaches are underpaid, so this is a worthwhile move for Clemson. Even though the the Tiger program has regressed a bit, Swinney is still one of the best coaches in the country.
NBA
- Mavericks sign PF Maxi Kleber to three-year, $33M extension
- Kleber is an alright player, but he’s fit well with Luka Doncic over the years, so I’m fine with this contract, even though it’s a bit of an overpay. Despite being 30-years-old, perhaps Kleber continues to get better. If that’s the case, the final year or two of this deal won’t look too bad.
MLB
- Reds 4 Cubs 3
- The Reds probably still don’t have a great outlook for 2023, but they should be able to go into the offseason feeling good again about Jonathan India. The second baseman struggled coming off an injury during this campaign, but his play of late has closely resembled that of his excellent rookie season a year ago.
- Brewers 2 Giants 1
- He isn’t getting the same buzz he received a year ago when he won the NL Cy Young, but Corbin Burnes is still awesome. The righty went eight innings in this game, punching out 14 batters, and allowing just one earned run. Burnes may have to carry Milwaukee into the postseason this month.
- White Sox 14 Athletics 2
- Chicago has a bunch of bats that can rake, so it’s a bit surprising the team has scored only 595 runs thus far. On the other end of the spectrum, Dylan Cease is taking matters into his own hands when it comes to the AL Cy Young. Justin Verlander and Shane McClanahan are currently on the shelf, and Cease has been taking advantage. In this contest, Cease tossed six shutout frames.
