Dolphins sign LB Jordyn Brooks to three-year, $51.3 million contract extension

The mantra for rebuilding organizations is to get younger, cheaper and, in many cases, worse. Over the course of the past year, the Dolphins have checked all three boxes. Miami should be dreadful this season.

While charting a long-term strategy, the Dolphins have prioritized keeping three franchise pillars — three veterans — around. Miami previously inked talented running back De’Von Achane and stalwart center Aaron Brewer to big-money extensions, signaling a commitment to the team’s very best players.

Now, the Dolphins are showing the same loyalty to Brooks. The 28-year-old posted a whopping 183 tackles last year, which somehow wasn’t even a career best for the linebacker. Last season, however, was Brooks’ best season, as his anchoring of Miami’s defense earned him first-team All-Pro honors.

Under head coach Jeff Hafley, Brooks will be adjusting to a new scheme, though he’s no stranger to change. The veteran played his first four seasons with the Seahawks prior to breaking out with the Dolphins. Entering year seven, Brooks should still have plenty left in the tank. Given this agreement, Miami sure thinks so.

Along with his 183 tackles, Brooks recorded 3.5 sacks in 2025.

After two shaky seasons to begin his career, Justin Wrobleski has been nothing short of brilliant this year for the Dodgers. Going toe-to-toe with Zack Wheeler, the left-hander outdueled the Phillies’ ace, tossing 6.1 innings of one-run ball. If Los Angeles can count on Wrobleski to make strong starts in the postseason, it makes the club even bigger favorites to three-peat.
